MY AUTHOR STORY

ABOUT ME

I have traveled the road of writing since, at the age of six, I penciled my first book, Crawls the Caterpillar. With stops along the way for newspaper and magazine articles, I have published two Young Adult paranormal romance novels and one Christian Devotional of original poetry. I love complex characters and intricate plots that mesh into multifaceted books, often melding romance, mystery, adventure, history, and the reality of today’s society.

My foreign travels, often to provide medical care in the most remote regions of the world, and my belief in relationship as foundational, underscore my writing process. That, and a lot of Kenyan tea.

When not deep into a project, I hang out with family and friends, read, volunteer, and hike with my Cavachon puppy, Lucy. And I just happen to be the biggest fan ever of chocolate milkshakes. And hugs.

the girl with chameleon eyes

It's an abrupt, uncomfortable incarnation for Summer, the ghostly girl with chameleon eyes. Exotic hues roil in her gaze as she seeks to recall what awful sin in her past has doomed her to roam the earth. And to discover what--or who--will bring her eternal rest.

Kota, brunt of bad jokes because he's different, feels an instant connection to Summer. She recoils at the mere sight of him. Yet they are drawn together in a dance of mutual need, choreographed by the ages.

As Summer grows more attached to both her young foster brother and to Kota's friend Preston, she struggles against complacency. Until discovering that is she doesn't expiate the guilt on her soul by her seventeenth birthday, she will roam forever.

For her, it's hate at first sight. For him, it's instant attraction. When the pieces of their lives begin to unravel and intertwine, will love be enough to save them both? Or will evil decide their future?

Love dies with Abby's father. The return of her mother after a twelve-year absence brings more grief. And the move to a dilapidated house along the Youghiogheny River bike trail is an exile.

When blond, blue-eyed Jack rides into Abby's life, it's like the sun has been restored to her world. Bit by bit, hints of a darker side to his personality appear. She struggles to deny them, even while her best friend, Morton, grows increasingly mistrustful of the handsome stranger.

Abby uncovers a mystery from the Civil War era in a nearby cemetery, which brings her only moments of peace. Cool caresses and the whispered call, "Abigail..." send her digging into the past.

But as Jack's motives become ever more unclear, the love Abby hoped for seems impossible. And leads her to a life or death choice. Will love be her salvation...or her demise?

Biblical Psalms were penned millennia ago, sacred poetry created from deep within longing hearts. We still cry out to God in love, gratitude, sorrow, and appeal. Although the human condition has not changed, the world is constantly evolving. Our frames of reference are vastly different than when the psalmists of old lifted insights from their culture.

Psalms of Our Age reflects the deep need to communicate our inner-most feelings with the Lord in the era in which we live. Prayerfully conceived and written, this devotional presents new sacred poetry and highlights select original Psalms. Deeper reflection guides the way into a closer walk with God as his power and presence speak through our age--and from ages past.

Life on the streets is hard but it’s deadly when a young woman battles addiction.

Where is home . . . when you’re homeless?

Selah gets through life using lies, sex, and faux concern as a veneer to forget the past and to achieve personal gain. She barely tolerates her job bringing medicine to the streets. Will is the only man who has refused her body. She resents that his God stands between them.

Will pastors the homeless no matter who or where they are. He conceals a past that is anything but pure. His biggest temptation is his love for Selah. But he refuses to compromise his faith.

When Selah’s deceased husband appears to her—more dangerous in death than in life—the careful control she has used to cope slips away. Evil takes control as she falls far from the life she had carefully planned. And then farther still.

Selah must make a radical choice as an epic spiritual battle rages. Because she has finally found a love worth protecting at all costs.

Is there redemption at the intersection of brutal reality and saving grace?
